Join us for a geopolitical intersectionality and peace walking tour through Geneva. We will leave from Maison de la Paix and return for the GPW25 Closing Ceremony - Arts and Peace Encounters event (17 October, 11:00 - 12:30 CET).

DR GAL HARMAT, Senior Researcher, SwissPeace

Dr. Gal Harmat, a Senior Fellow at swisspeace, specializes in Gender, Conflict, and Peace Analysis. With a Ph.D. in Gender Analysis of Peace Education and Dialogue Encounters from Nitra University and an M.A. in Gender and Peacebuilding from the UN-Mandated University for Peace, her focus is gender, intersectionality, human security and Israel/Palestine. Dr. Harmat has extensive experience as a resident professor at the Gender and Peace Building Program and leading the Department of Peace and Conflict Studies at UPEACE. She also lectures at the UN University for Peace, the University of Basel and the Kibbutzim College of Education. Dr. Harmat's expertise includes conflict analysis, dialogue and mediation facilitation, and research. She particularly emphasizes intersectional gender dynamics in conflict-affected public spaces. She conducts intersectional gender sessions on peacebuilding and conflict analysis workshops for international organizations, as a consultant and adviser for various philanthropic foundations and universities, including the UBS Optimus Foundation, UN-Women, OSCE and swisspeace. Dr. Harmat founded The Genderator, a social and peace startup initiative that links gender, intersectional pedagogy, security, a culture of peace, and art.

SARAH NOBLE, Head of Global Engagement, Caux Initiatives of Change

Sarah Noble is a Canadian-born peace advocate and storyteller currently based in Geneva, Switzerland. Sarah is the Head of Global Engagement at the Caux Initiatives of Change Foundation where she works on partnerships, inner development,  the Caux Arts and Peace Encounters, and the Caux Forums. She is also co-founder and Curator of the PeaceTalks, a global storytelling platform dedicated to stories of peace at Interpeace. She has over 20 years of experience in strategic communications, fundraising, and partnerships in global organizations focused on peacebuilding, humanitarian issues, and non-profit public interest media. Passionate about storytelling as a tool for healing and social change, Sarah believes in its power to address global challenges. In her TEDx talk, Storytelling is Our Real-Life Superpower, she highlights how narratives can shape a better future. Sarah is the mom of 2 small kids and is motivated by a desire to be a good ancestor. Sarah has an MA in International Affairs from Norman Paterson School of International Affairs and a BA in Political Studies and Economics from Queen’s University.
