29 November - 06 December 2025

It is with great joy that the Caux Initiatives and Change Foundation welcomes, as partners, the third edition of the Émergences musicales for an exceptional week at the Caux Palace! From 29 November to 6 December, 2025, the Émergences musicales will offer young talents an opportunity to get to meet, listen to one another, write, and compose together in an extraordinary setting. In the evenings, come and enjoy to public concerts featuring renowned artists who have chosen the intimacy of the Caux Palace theatre to share special moments with you.

The concept

« Les Émergences musicales » is:

  • a residency for new French-speaking talents (singer-songwriters). Selected through an application process, they will spend a week developing their composition, writing and stage presence skills with recognized professionals - a valuable way to also break the often oppressive loneliness artists face at the beginning of their careers. This artistic and human experience will end with the closing concert, where they will present on the stage of the Caux Palace Theatre the compositions they have created during the week.
  • exclusive and intimate concerts in the Belle-Epoque setting of the Caux Palace theatre (386 seats).
  • cultural outreach activities (public-artist encounters, collaborations with schools).

In short, "Les Émergences" is a space of artistic freedom, suspended between lake and mountains, where creativity is stimulated at every moment!

Support by French singer and song-writer Francis Cabrel

"Les Émergences" is the younger sister of the "Rencontres d’Astaffort", founded over 30 years ao by Francis Cabrel in his native village in the Southwest of France. We are grateful for this enthusiasm, advice and commitment. It is a priviledge for us to benefit from the support of one of the greatest French-speaking singer-songwriters.

Emergences musicales Les artistes

The organisers

La Saison culturelle Foundation

Since 2004, La Saison culturelle Foundation has had one primary mission: to be the leading artistic presence at the Stravinski Auditorium, outside of festival periods. This mandate was entrusted to it by the Montreux authorities, as well as by the nine municipalities of the Riviera district, with the goal of offering a cultural program in the region's largest hall (1,650 to 1,700 seats). But La Saison's work goes further. Even more so since the Congress Center closed for renovations (reopening in 2026), La Saison has been developing original concepts around two strong pillars: showcasing artists from the French-speaking part of Switzerland and supporting new talents. The first includes productions such as "Sorcière, le musical", which had 30 sold-out performances during the spring-summer 2024. As for the second pillar, that's where "Les Emergences musicales" comes in!

Voix du Sud

With the "Emergences musicales", the Montreux Saison culturelle de Montreux is partnering with « Voix du Sud », widely recognized for its training programs. Behind this initiative stands Francis Cabrel. In 1994, he launched "Les Rencontres d'Astaffort", his way of turning his native village into a meeting point for aspiring young musicians. Since then, "Voix du Sud" has built expertise, a strong network, and has spread its influence far and wide. This training organization specialized in courses dedicated to the songwriting process, designed for the artists who create them: authors, composers, and performers.
