Building Trust in Business

Trust is crucial for a business to succeed as it impacts positively employee motivation, consumer loyalty and societal consent for companies to operate.

In our digital age where human relevance is increasingly being questioned, we urgently need to build public trust in a humane future empowered by technology.

At Initiatives of Change (IofC) Switzerland, we work for peace and social cohesion by building trust through a human-centered leadership approach. We put people first, operating from a clear set of values and principles. These leaders are well positioned to not only develop an economic advantage but also contribute to individual and societal progress.

Businesses need to build trust on three levels:

Consumers: Products and services should have trust designed into their life-cycle, allowing for the best security, privacy and transparency, as well human and ecological safety.

Employees: business leaders need to focus on empowerment through constant upskilling or reskilling, increased delegation of responsibilities and less control. Increased trust results in higher performance.

Society: Businesses need to engage proactively in policy making to develop solutions that will mitigate the risks and increase the benefits of the ongoing digital transformation. According to the Edelman Trust Barometer 2019, 76 % of respondents expect CEOs to take the lead on change rather than waiting for government to impose it.

IofC Switzerland wants to contribute to a world where the development and use of technology leads to progress and a humane future.

Through thematic conferences, IofC Switzerland inspires, equips and connects today’s business leaders so that they are empowered to lead the technology revolution in a human-centered way.
